How We Champion Children and Families

Family based Treatment Plan

Beginning with our initial assessment and treatment plan we listen to families concerns, challenges, and goals. We don’t automatically require a set therapy, schedule, hours, or program. We develop a treatment plan that addresses a child’s needs as well as parent concerns, schedules, and family dynamics. This plan is continually open to change and modification as needed.

Family involvement

We try to involve parents into therapy as much as possible. For home therapy we can easily involve parents and siblings in treatment plan implementation. We find this to be an enjoyable and effective way to provide therapy. For clinic or community based therapy direct parent involvement is scheduled in as much as is practical. We also give parents regular updates on therapy progress and goals. We also regularly communicate with parents on any achievements, challenges, changes, or needed information. Treatment plans can be changed immediately as needed.

Parent Training

We provide structured parent training as needed. Our staff are experts trainers and coaches. We can provide training on a variety of topics related to ASD. Our specialists provide regularly scheduled training that all parents/family members are invited to. In addition, we can provide extra and specialized training at any time when requested. Some topics we have provided training in are potty training, conflict resolution, eating issues, sleeping issues, compliance issues, emotional/behavioral regulation, improving communication, community safety, etc.

Community Support

We can provide parents support in the community as needed. Parents often request help in a variety of settings such as doctor’s offices, dentist offices, school, playgrounds, grocery stores, daycare, etc. Our staff is there to provide planning, training, support, direct services, and consultation. We don’t consider our services as a home/office therapy only service. We are there to provide support and services to families in the most effective way possible.
